Snug is a clipboard manager for Mac, made for people who work with AI coding agents.
Like other clipboard managers, it saves the text, links, images and files you copy. Press Shift Command V to open the tray along the bottom of the screen, search your history and paste an older clip. Pin a clip to a pinboard and it stays there, even after your history lets it go. Quick Paste and the Paste Stack are in too.
The difference is what happens to secrets. When you copy an API key, token, password, private key or database URL, Snug moves it to your Mac's Keychain. The history shows only its last four characters. Your agent gets a short ref such as sec_7f3a instead of the value. It runs programs with the key through the snug command (snug run --proxy), and for keys Snug can proxy, Snug adds the real key on the way out, so the agent never holds it. The key never lands in a chat log.
Agents like Claude Code, Codex and Cursor can also read your clips and change your pinboards through Snug's MCP server. You choose Always Allow once for clips. Keys always ask. Snug logs every time a key leaves it, and the log stays on your Mac.
Who it is for: developers and anyone who uses AI agents on a Mac and does not want to paste keys into a chat.
Pricing: a 7-day free trial of the full app with no account. Then $9 once (launch price, full price $14), one license for 3 Macs, with 1 year of updates. Needs macOS 14 or later.
