Most AI tool lists answer "what exists". Seek AI answers a sharper question: which AI actually does my job well?
seekai.dev is an independently-run AI tools directory aimed at working professionals. Every tool that makes it into the directory is tested on the task it claims to do, then scored on quality, speed, and cost. The scores are editorial, not crowd noise — no pay-to-rank placements.
Three things make the directory useful day to day:
- Weekly pricing checks. AI vendors reprice constantly. The directory re-verifies plan prices every week, so a "free" label you see actually means free this week.
- Task-first browsing. Tools are grouped by the job you need done — writing a report, cutting a video, shipping code, designing slides — not by vendor buzzwords.
- Head-to-head alternatives. Every listing names its closest competitors and shows where each one wins, so shortlisting takes minutes instead of an afternoon of tab-hoarding.
Coverage spans writing, video, coding, design, research, and productivity categories, with new tools added after a human review rather than auto-imported feeds.
Tool makers can submit their product to the directory as well; listings are reviewed by editors and categorized precisely. Free listing options are available with a link back appreciated.
If your bookmark folder of "AI tools to try" has become a graveyard, try seekai.dev — pick the task, read the comparison, shortlist in minutes.
